Dos Palmas Country Inn is the second hotel of Flor en Peter. It is quietly situated in the countryside. The climate is lovely, one of the best in the world.
Location
Dos Palmas country Inn is at a 12 minutes drive from Juan Santamaría International Airport, in a quiet surrounding. It is in the region of La Garita, close to Alajuela, so you can reach this town easily. San José is 30 minutes away by car.
Activities
We have a spacious pool with comfortable lounge-chairs, and also a basketbal/badminton/volleybal field. On walking distance from the hotel there is a beautiful botanic orchids garden, or you can also take a tour on horseback. We have a large garden, nice to take a walk, and there is a great variety of fruit trees, bananatrees, coffeeplants, palmtrees, butterflies and squirrels.
Because of its central position you can do a lot of things from Dos Palmas. A day in San José for example. But there are also a few highlights close by: the crater of Poás Volcano is at a distance of one hour, but also the fairly unknown Barva Volcano is very much worth discovering.
To be sure that you will see all the highlights from the flora and fauna of Costa Rica, you can visit the Waterfallgardens, Amigos the Ave (birds) and the Butterfly Farm. For the very active we can arrange a rafting tour on the rivers Sarapiquí and Pacuare, and for the very adventurous we can offer a bungee jump into the deep or a canopy tour in Braulio Carillo.
And the souvenirs ? You can buy them in Sarchí, a nice half-hour trip to a small Costa Rican town. (you can also see the people at work making souvenirs there)
