After a visit to the Carribean you are going north, where you can find two of the most visited volcanoes of Costa Rica: Rincón de la Vieja and Arenal. Here you can make lovely hikes or you can go horseback riding. Visiting the beach, or floating through the trees in a little harness? That is also possible. And Monteverde cloud forest is well worth a visit.

Day 1 - Dos Palmas Airport in Alajuela
After arriving at Juan Santamaría International Airport in Alajuela, close to the capital city San José, Peter or Flor from hotel Dos Palmas will pick you up. From there it is a 5 min. drive, after which you can relax and acclimatize to the tropical Costa Rica.

Day 2 / 3 - Mawamba Lodge in Tortuguero
Early in the morning you will be picked up for the trip to Tortuguero. The last part will be in a boat, gliding through the jungle. Here you will have a day and a half to see turtles, to spot birds and to make a boat trip. When you come back in Guapiles your rental car will be waiting and you will go to Heliconia Island.

Day 4 / 6 - Heliconia Island in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí
The trip takes you north-west, to Heliconia Island. It is in the name already, situated on an island in the middle of a beautiful botanical garden, where you can see many birds and monkeys. Here you can visit pineapple and banana plantations or take a look in biological center La Selva.

Day 7 / 9 - Monte Terras in Tronadora
Still in the province of Guanacaste you will stay in a cheerful cabina at Monte Terras. From here you can see Arenal Volcano. In the evening there is a chance to see the lava rolling down. Another possibility is a visit to Monteverde cloud forest. There you can walk across hanging bridges or hover from tree to tree in a harness.

Day 10 / 12 - Aroma de Campo in Curubandé
In the very north you will find Aroma de Campo where you will stay in a colorful room. Rincón de la Vieja volcano is within reach. There is a possibility for several walks, alongside waterfalls, steaming mudpools and sulphur damps. The most spectacular hike takes you to the crater, this is a hike of about seven hours. On your way you will see different kinds of trees and orchids, maybe monkeys?

Day 13 / 15 - Fidelito Holiday Ranch in Tambor
On the Nicoya Peninsula you will find hacienda-style Fidelito Holiday Ranch. It is situated in the jungle-covered hills of Tambor. A guided tour on the Ranch is included. But you can also go horseback riding, bicycling or relax on the beach.

Day 16 / 18 - Beach Hotel Celaje in Cabuya
On the southernmost tip of the Nicoya Peninsula you will find Beach Hotel Celaje. Here you can enjoy the  sun and the beach for a few days, and of course you can make several trips, e.g. to an uninhabited island. Beach Hotel Celaje is situated directly on the beach with a fantastic view to the ocean. You will sleep in a comfortable bungalow.

Day 19 / 20 - Dos Palmas in La Garita
The last day you will be at Dos Palmas again, but now in La Garita. Enjoy the porch once more and reflect your holiday. Don’t forget to hand in the rental car in time.

Departure from San José, you will be taken to the airport.

It goes without saying that from each hotel various daytrips are possible. Here we made a selection from them. Prices are based on 2 persons. Do you travel with more persons, do you want to stay shorter or longer in some of the hotels, or shorten or lengthen your trip? That is possible. Prices are per person, based on a double room, including breakfast and 16.39% tax.
In the week before Easter and in the week between Christmas and New Year there may be other rates. We will send them to you on request.

Prices for 17 days car rental, including TOP insurances. The cost of car rental will be paid to the rental company by yourself with a een creditcard.
