Day 1 - Dos Palmas Airport in Alajuela
After arriving at Juan Santamaría International Airport in Alajuela, close to the capital city San José, Peter or Flor from hotel Dos Palmas will pick you up. From there it is a 5 min. drive, after which you can relax and acclimatize to the tropical Costa Rica.

Day 2 / 4 - Monte Terras in Tronadora
Your rental car will be delivered and you go north. Here you will stay in a cheerful cabina at Monte Terras. You have a view on Arenal Volcano and in the evenings there is a chance to see the lava rolling down. Kayaking on the Arenal lake and rafting on the Corobici river. A visit to Monteverde cloud forest is well worth a visit, or else rent a mountain bike.

Day 5 / 7 - Aroma de Campo in Curubandé
Even more to the north is Aroma de Campo, where you will stay in a colourful room. Rincón de la Vieja is within reach. You can make several hikes, to waterfalls, fuming mud pools and sulphur damps, a wide choice. Rafting is also possible, or floating down the river on a big tire. Even more spectacular is the canyoning tour.

Day 8 / 10 - Celaje or Fidelito Ranch (choice between the two) on the Peninsula of Nicoya
These days you will spend on the Peninsula of Nicoya. Here you can enjoy the sun and the beach. However, a buggy tour is also exciting, or a canopy tour close to a waterfall!

> Fidelito Ranch is situated in the jungle-coverd hills of Tambor. It is built in hacienda stile and a tour around the Ranch is included.
> Hotel Celaje  is situated somewhat more to the south on the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, and 2 kms from Costa Rica’s oldest national park ’Cabo Blanco Reserva’. The hotel is directly on the beach, with a wonderful view over the ocean. Here you can spot playing whales and dolphins, and also enjoy the Belgian beers and the Belgian cuisine.

Day 11 / 13 - Mar de Luz or Playa Bejuco (choice between the two) in and around Jacó
We go to the south, to Jacó. Did you ever make a boat trip on a river littered with crocodiles? This is the ideal spot for surfing.

> Mar de Luz is situated in the nice beach village of Jacó. It is a cozy family hotel with good facilities.
> If you go for more luxury you choose for Playa Bejuco. The chef will prepare the most wonderful meals for you. A quiet place on walking distance from the beach and only 25 min. by car south of Jacó.

Day 14 / 16 - El Mono Feliz in Ojochal
Not far from the beach you will find the cozy cabañas of El Mono Feliz. Here you can go kayaking through the mangroves, very special. You can also survey the surroundings on horseback and visit several waterfalls. And of course a boat trip to spot whales and dolphins, snorkling equipment is available on the boat.  Or make a boattrip through the mangroves where you can see crocodiles, monkeys, birds and other wildlife.

Day 17 / 19 Guayabo Lodge in Turrialba
Mountains and unspoilt nature encircle beautiful Guayabo Lodge. From here you can take lovely walks. But of course you are here to go rafting on the Pacuare river, one of the two most well-known rafting places in Costa Rica. And a canyoning tour is also possible here. A lot of adventure, and if you have had enough of this you can visit a botanical garden in the surroundings.

Day 20 - Dos Palmas Airport in Alajuela
The last day you will be at Dos Palmas again. Enjoy the porch or the pool once more and reflect your holiday. Don’t forget to hand in the rental car in time.

Departure from San José, you will be taken to the airport.

It goes without saying that from each hotel various daytrips are possible. Here we made a selection from them. Prices are based on 2 persons. Do you travel with more persons, do you want to stay shorter or longer in some of the hotels, or shorten or lengthen your trip? That is possible.
